Laundry Tablets in 6 Easy Steps
Ingredients:
75g (2 ½ oz) Castile soap bar (grated)
300g (10 ½ oz) Baking soda or sodium carbonate
2 tablespoons Epsom salts
2 tablespoons hydrogen peroxide
10 drops lemon essential oil*
10 drops thyme essential oil*
2 ½ tablespoons vinegar
Step 1: Grate the Castile soap into a large bowl.
Step 2: Add the baking soda and Epsom salts.
Step 3: Slowly add the hydrogen peroxide while stirring.
Step 4: Add the essential oils to the bowl and mix them in well.
The mix should have the texture of wet sand.
Step 5: Using an ice-cream scoop, scoop the mixture onto parchment paper. You can also use a half-round silicone mould.
Step 6: Spray with a mix of the vinegar and water in equal parts and leave overnight. By the end of the process, you should have a product that is hard to the touch – if not, allow for extra resting time before use.
Store in a jar until ready for use.
*You can add or replace with another essential oil of your preference as well
